NUCL was established in 1889, founded by Count Akiyoshi YAMADA, Japan’s first Minister of Justice when the original constitution of Japan was issued.

  Nihon University College of Law includes, Law (Day School; Night School), Political Science and Economics, Journalism, Business Law, and Public Policy and affairs. These departments allow for different specializations within the common discipline of law.

• Research Seminar Groups

  

  Students can choose seminars in any department based on personal interests. Seminars are led by full-time faculty in their areas of expertise. Third- and fourth-year students can join a small group of peers for two years of specialized instruction from faculty. Seminars provide an excellent opportunity for students to receive personalized and specialized education under the guidance of experts in the field.
